Chaco Culture National Historical Park

  • March 20 – Witness the Spring Equinox sunrise in Casa Rinconada, one of the great kivas at Chaco Canyon.
  • June 20 – Witness the sunrise and the Summer Solstice marker of light inside Casa Rinconada, one of the great kivas at Chaco Canyon. Day activities continue with the Kitzit Dancers from Laguna Pueblo.
  • April through October – Night Sky Programs hosted by Chaco Culture National Historical Park staff. Topics include archaeoastronomy, cultural history, and telescope viewing. Things to Bring: red light head lamp, beanie, light jacket or fleece.
  • September 22 – Witness the sunrise and the Autumn Equinox marker of light inside Casa Rinconada, one of the great kivas at Chaco Canyon.
  • April through September – Enjoy Night Sky Programs hosted by National Historic Park staff Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evenings at sunset. Topics include archaeoastronomy, cultural history and telescope viewing.
  • December 21 – Witness the winter solstice alignment at Kin Kletso and the Winter Solstice marker of light sunrise at Kin Kletso, a Chacoan Great House.
